Tamatem mobile game publishers secured $2.5 million for their Series A. Tamatem was established in 2013 and it is currently based in Amman. Hussam Hammo, the CEO of Tamatem said the funds would help the company to access other Arab gaming markets Besides, he said that the funds would facilitate the improvement of mobile games in MENA.
Most of Tamatem’s businesses come from its partnership with global game developers then marketing them in the MENA region. However, during its establishment, Tamatem used to develop its in-house games. According to the latest reports, Tamatem has published over 40 games and recorded over 50 million downloads in MENA region.
Wamda Capital facilitated the process to ensure that Tamatem gets an investment capital of $2.5 million. Other investors who contributed to the success include Kima Ventures, Social Capital, Vision Venture Capital and Seed Equity Venture Partners, Raed Ventures, Nusantara Capital, 500startups and Arzan VC.
According to Khaled Talhouni, the managing partner from Wamda Capital, the regional gaming market for Tamatem keeps growing.
