The famous entrepreneurs like Maavi Norman, Gina Din, and Claude Jean Bastos de Morais are pushing for business transformation in Africa. The three individuals have recommended the use of WhatsApp due to its simple operating system.  The app allows for instant messaging and sharing of media. The platform also consumes less data bundles thus making it suitable for most African entrepreneurs. Jean Claude Bastos de Morais welcomed the app transformation through twitter. The platform acts as startup incubator across the continent.  The innovation will speed the development of small-scale startups at Jean Claude Bastos in Angola.

The use of WhatsApp has improved communication in many African countries. The app enables people to make voice calls, send and receive text messages at very low data cost. For instance, half of the internet traffics in Zimbabwe come from the app.

The use of the app in Africa has improved startups and business performance. The platform has the ability to connect millions of people at the same time.  Approximately, eighty percent of businesses in Brazil and India use it for keeping customers updates, taking order and market research.  The platform recently introduced WhatsApp Business App to improve business transactions. The innovation is characterized by a good messaging tool for instant replies for commonly asked business queries.  Business strategies can be created by reviewing the app message statistics.  The app also helps in the creation of business accounts which are regularly monitored for frauds.

The current business statistics shows that WhatsApp Business has registered about 500,000 users. The number of users is expected to increase rapidly in the near future. The platform has launched its operation in Kenya, Tanzania and Nigeria and South Africa.

According to the Owerri-based Nigerian entrepreneur, Chris Alagboso, both small and big companies in the continent use the app. The move will help entrepreneurs to achieve digital business outreach plan. The app challenges Facebook and Twitter when it comes to business models. The app’s future focus should consider introducing swift payment portals as well as sponsorship of posts. The move will speed up chances for businesses to find customers.
