Winners of the Orange Social Entrepreneur Prize in Africa and the Middle East

Orange has finally announced the winners of the 10th Africa and the Middle East Social Entrepreneur Prize, where several startups walked away with the top prize money.

17 of Orange’s subsidiaries held a round of domestic competitions where 41 winners were identified and marked for support. The international competition featured 18 finalists at the virtual AfricaTech Festival.

Winners of the Top three prizes

Akhili, an automated telephone dispatching platform offering psychological assistance won US$30,000.

Second place went to Teliman, a Mali-based on-demand motorbike taxi service.

Third place went to Weeglo, a Liberian e-learning platform.

The International women’s prize

Tunisia-based Ahmini won this prize valued at $24,000 to facilitate access of women in the rural areas to the Tunisia welfare and healthcare systems.

The Special 10th Anniversary Prize

The Prize was valued at $12 million went to Toto Riibô, a Tunisian online ordering, and food delivery service.
